The workshop

A purpose-built luthier workshop — and a place to learn the craft

We built our luthier workshop in Al Quoz as more than a repair bench. It is a working studio where instruments are repaired, set up and restored — and where the craft is taught. We host interns, welcome students and visiting technicians, and run hands-on workshops and masterclasses on string and woodwind instruments for schools, teachers and music departments.

Alongside it runs a dedicated woodwind workshop, equipped for full overhauls, pad work, key regulation and leak testing on clarinets, flutes, saxophones, oboes and bassoons.

Yes. Every instrument is assessed first and quoted in writing. No work starts, and nothing is charged, until you approve the quotation.

Can I drop the instrument off without an appointment?

Yes — the Al Quoz workshop and showroom are open daily 09:00–18:00. If you’d like to speak with the technician in person, message us on WhatsApp first so we can make sure they are available.

Do you service instruments you didn’t sell?

Yes. We service instruments of any brand or origin, including school fleets and privately owned professional instruments.

Do you collect from schools and orchestras?

Yes. For institutions we collect on site, log each instrument with a condition report, and return them serviced. Regular collections are part of our Annual Maintenance Contracts.

Can our school book a workshop or masterclass?

Yes. We run hands-on string and woodwind workshops and masterclasses in our Al Quoz workshop and at schools. Email services@musicdistrictshop.com with your group size and interests and we’ll propose a session.
